Nov 28 The Matt Damon Ultimatum 0
Filed in: General News

Superstar Matt Damon is working on four new flicks that will open in 2009 — but tells “Extra” his priority is his family.

Damon and wife Luciana welcomed daughter Gia Zavala in August — joining big sisters Alexia, 10, and Isabella, 2. “I am hopelessly outnumbered,” Matt says of his all-female clan.

The “Bourne Ultimatum” star also dished on celebrity pal Sarah Silverman– who shot the now-famous “I’m F**king Matt Damon” with the actor. “Let’s just say Sarah’s a friend of the family — we’ll just leave it at that,” Damon said.

Despite the sexual hilarity of the spoof video, Damon said his wife of three years is cool about the attention the song received — and even has a tshirt to prove it! “My wife is very cool,” said Damon. “Actually, someone sent us a t-shirt in the mail that said ‘I’m f**king Matt Damon’ with a note that said, ‘Dear Lucy, you’re the one who can actually wear this!'”

Matt Damon’s canvas

ARTWORK created by celebrities like Matt Damon, Jude Law and Sir Bob Geldof is going under the hammer for an Old Hatfield-based charity.

Nearly 300 canvases have been created by stars of TV and film, sports personalities and musicians, as well as top artists and cartoonists.

Other names who have created works include Sir Richard Attenborough, John Hurt and Katie Price, as well as renowned artists like Peter Blake and David Hensel.

They will go on show at an exhibition at the SW1 Gallery in Cardinal Walk, London, from Tuesday until next Saturday, December 6.

But they are up for grabs in an online auction from today (Wednesday), with all proceeds for the Willow Foundation.
The charity was set up by Arsenal legend Bob Wilson and his wife Megs in memory of their daughter Anna, who died of cancer aged 31.

It provides special days for seriously ill 16 to 40-year-olds.

Nov 28 Matt Damon And Tina Fey Go Anime 0
Filed in: Movie News

Matt Damon And Tina Fey Go Anime We’ve never made it much of a secret that most of the staff around here doesn’t like anime movies. I personally don’t have anything specifically against them. I just haven’t found any that really appeal to me. Of course, anime fans are quick to try to remedy this, and I’ve always been told that I should stat with the films of Miyazaki, who probably makes movies with the most potential mainstream appeal, and has even garnered Oscar attention with some of his stories.

Anime fan-site Ghibli thinks Miyazaki’s next picture, Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea, is very likely to break into the mainstream, not only due to an exceptionally high quality story, but also because of the people providing the English dub work on the picture. The cast for the English version will include as diverse a crowd as Matt Damon, Tina Fey, Cate Blanchett, Liam Neeson, Lily Tomlin, Betty White, and Cloris Leachman. Pretty eclectic mix, eh?

I don’t pretend to be an expert in these areas, but I have to wonder if a vocal cast is enough to push the movie toward the mainstream. After all, some of Miyazaki’s other pictures have had a pretty popular vocal cast (Princess Mononoke included Claire Danes, Billy Crudup, Billy Bob Thornton, and Minnie Driver, while Spirited Away featured Michael Chiklis and Daveigh Chase), but none of them have truly won over mainstream audiences. What makes anyone think Matt Damon will be the guy to do so? I mean, his video with Sarah Silverman earlier this year was pretty funny, but just providing a voice for an animated movie doesn’t seem to be quite the same.

Nov 21 Jason Bourne Renews License to Kill James Bond 0
Filed in: Movie News

Los Angeles (E! Online) – Is Matt Damon getting ready to be Bourne again…and again…and again?

Universal has just inked a deal with Robert Ludlum’s estate for exclusive rights to the Jason Bourne character and first look at his other novels.

The agreement allows the studio to forge ahead with three more Bourne movies and continue a franchise that has so far spawned more than $1 billion in worldwide grosses and is widely considered to be kicking the crap out of a certain martini-mad rival spy guy.

Damon, who has played the revenge-minded amnesiac in the first three movies, has already signed on to a fourth installment to be directed by Paul Greengrass, who helmed The Bourne Ultimatum and The Bourne Supremacy. It’s not known whether Damon will play the role beyond the next film, or whether producers will go the Bond route and keep recasting.

While Ludlum penned only two sequels, Supremacy and Ultimatum, before his death in 2001, his heirs commissioned novelist Eric Van Lustbader to continue the series with The Bourne Legacy, The Bourne Betrayal and The Bourne Sanction.

No word if the new films will utilize those latter-day tales, but the estate reportedly has final approval on all screenplays and casting choices. Ludlum Entertainment will also develop other Ludlum-based non-Bourne conspiracy thrillers, such as The Sigma Protocol, as potential movies.

The fourth Bourne flick is targeted to hit theaters in summer 2010.

This has absolutely nothing to do with Matt Damon but I wanted to give attention to a really good show in ABC that I think EVERYONE should be watching. It is called Pushing Daisies and its about a magical pie maker named Ned (Lee Pace) who can bring people back from the dead for 1 min, which he uses to solve quirky mysteries with his friends Chuck (Anna Friel), Olive (Kristen Chenowith), and Emerson (Che McBride) . The show is colorful, whimsical, funny, dramatic , feel good and simply wonderful. There is nothing like it on TV (and I would know, I watch a LOT of TV from House to CSI to The Office, I know TV). Its cast is spectacular with Lee Pace (from Miss Pedagrew Lives For A Day) whose so great in the role balancing humor and drama he is the PERFECT NED (he is adorable which is just a plus)! The cast also has great supporting work by Kristen Chenowith and Anna Friel whom both want to be Ned’s love interest. The show is endanger of being canceled and with rumors that ABC is waiting on Wednesdays rating to make a final decision, even if you have never seen the show before, PLEASE WATCH IT ON ABC AT 8PM ON WEDNESDAY! SAVE THE SHOW!
